Person on photograph above is Italian designer Franco Moschino (made in 1989, courtesy of moschino), founder of the namesake label. He graduated at the Brera Fine Arts Academy in Milan and worked as an illustrator at Versace and Cadette, who he also worked with as a designer. In 1983, the year in which he launched his first collection in Milan, he showed himself to be a brilliant, visionary talent, one strongly influenced by the Dada movement. A lover of improvisation and liberty in all their forms, the designer said he never invented anything rather he illuminated and glamorised pre-existing designs simply by minimising their essential character.

after Moschino’s death in 1994, due to complications from AIDS, the company’s creative force, Rossella Jardini, has preserved the Moschino traditions and message. October 2011 Jeremy Scott became Moschino’s creative director. scott chose the Italian label because moschino had a similarly irreverent approach so he can stay true to this playful spirit with tongue-in-cheek slogans, fast-food inspired motifs and bold color combinations.
