Suiting meets sportswear and plastic bags morph into masks. Christopher Shannon’s autumn winter 1415 collection featured sweaters with cheap plastic bags saying ‘Broke’ instead of coke, ‘Thanks 4 nothing’ and ‘Save me’. the words Riffing off the realities of being a young designer in todays economic climate – the struggles, trials and tribulations faced within the industry – these are words of protest. the chunky jewellery were made in collaboration with Judy Blame (who also co-styled the show) and supermarket carrier bag concealed faces are the courtesy of Isamaya Ffrench.
