amsterdam based brand ‘camiel fortgens’ was found in 2014, shortly after fortgens graduation from the Design Academy Eindhoven. the designer explores materials, shapes, and elements of archetypal men’s clothing from disparate eras and cultures. 

Employing a design ethos that explores unisex cuts and renditions of various iconic garments, Camiel Fortgens criticized the contemporary cut-copy-paste nature of the menswear industry through design at his graduation collection ‘known’. All made in the most basic and simplistic manner; stitches on the outside and never really with proper fit.
