a few sources of inspiration for the autumn winter 2016 lookbook of Sies Marjan were five females from Sander Lak’s inner circle and the work of Russian photographer Boris Mikhailov. this indicates the importancy for the designer of doing something that is personal and authentic.

Lak asked Kasper Kasprzyk to photograph his photographs,taking inspiration from teen diary entries and poetry books, in order to create something that felt handmade, tactile and real. concluding that they weren’t keen to have more people than necessary on set, Sander Lak and lotta Volkova decided to skip hair and make-up, further pushing the importance of real.
